At the heart of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in our city is the entrenched Montréal Irish community. Now part of the very foundation of Montreal, the Irish population came from humble, and painful beginnings. Former Queen of the Parade Samantha Cambridge and former Princess Catherine Polson give us the history behind the hardship, and also currently why “Montreal is so Irish”.
The West Island of Montreal doesn’t get much love, and maybe even some hate from most Montrealers. But, don’t knock it until you try it. The 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang have started, and our athletes are off to an amazing start. In Montréal we have our own Winter Games going on, however these are annual, everyone is an unwilling athlete, and the events are pretty torturous.
